Alright, so what I have created for you here is a guide for Survival Spec Ops on the map Resistance. For this map I have 3 strategies that you can use, and if you want, you can switch strategies or locations in the map when you deem it necessary. So here is the key for the map markings:
Strategy #1
This is the strategy that I originally tried using on resistance. Basically, the players camp inside the house in the center of the map (the one near the Killstreak box in the garden). You have sentry guns facing each way and a player aside one of the sentry guns. As you can see, the enemies completely surround you, and therefore it is an effective method to end rounds quickly. However, this strategy is ineffective after round 30 due to the heavily armored troops and abundance of jugs. The best part about this location is that it constantly provides helicopter cover, yet, can trap you inside with no escape.
Strategy #2
This is a strategy similar to the one above, in that it involves the fortification of an enclosed area. Instead of the house, this one is in the library at the back of the map. So there will be turrets facing at the two entrances, and the players can decide which way to face. The advantage of this location is that it makes it harder for the enemies to get in, and also, there is better places to take cover inside the building. Lastly, the red circle on the map shows an escape route free of enemies, which the previous strategy lacks. The downside of this strategy is that the room is fairly small, and if troops reach inside, it can be annoying.
Strategy #3
This last strategy is very different from the previous two in that it has its location set outdoors. It is situated on the elevated balcony next to the ammo crate. There are many advantages to this, in that it's close to the bomb crate and it's extremely close to the weapons crate. Also, there is a guaranteed escape because you can jump off the balcony railing at any point in time. It requires the two people facing the opposite sides, and crouching or staying in prone while constantly shooting enemies. The only disadvantage is that you don't get cover from air strikes like helicopters. However, with a powerful assault rifle or LMG, it is easy to take out the helicopter at the beginning of the round.

Review: P99 Handgun
P99 Handgun
General:
First off, the P99 is amazing. At short range, it is a carnage machine, simply because of a relatively large magazine and a obscenely high rate of fire. It is less effective at longer ranges, but this goes for all the other pistols as well, excluding the Desert Eagle. It is very compact in size, with a sleek appearance thus, it doesn't take up much of the screen. It has good accuracy for a handgun, low damage (all though that is compensated by high firing rate), pretty good range, and amazing mobility (you have a move speed of 100% with this weapon).
Details:
- The P99 has the highest rate of fire in the game, at 1200 rpm.
- It has a damage value of 49-17 depending on location of shot and range. Because of this, it's a 6-3 shot kill, which is extremely fast. With headshots it is a 2 shot kill.
- It is a medium range handgun.
- Its magazine size is 12 rounds with an 18 round magazine if you put extended mags on it as an attachment. This is very high for a pistol.
- The reload time is 1.23 seconds, which is also very fast.
- The raise time is 0.53 seconds and the drop time is 0.56 seconds.
- It has average recoil.
Effectiveness:
I use this as my sidearm consistently with a primary as an L118a. This gun has never failed me I don't think it will fail me in the future. The downside of this weapon is the range. It is extremely effective in short to medium ranges but long range reduces it's damage. It is most effective in maps that have many tight gaps, corridors, and hallways such as Arkaden, Seatown, Hardhat, and Dome. It is somewhat ineffective in maps such as Resistance and Interchange.
Rating:
Accuracy: 7/10
Range: 5/10
Damage: 2/10
Fire Rate: 10/10
Mobility: 10/10
Effectiveness: 8/10
Overall: 7/10
Pistols in MW3
The following is a list of the Pistols in Modern Warfare 3. For more accurate and detailed reviews, click on the weapon names. (Work in progress).
Pistols
USP .45
The USP .45 is the first pistol that you have in your MW3 Pistol armory, and it is unlocked from the start. This is a great all around pistol, and is the default pistol for all "Regular" difficulty Spec Ops maps.
The P99 is the fastest firing gun in the game. It can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. This gun is not unlocked from the start, it's unlocked at Level 11. Personally, this is my favorite sidearm.
MP412
The MP412 is one of the stronger pistols in the game. It kills quicker than it's predecessors, and has a decent ammo capacity for a pistol. I consider this weapon a mix between the .44 Magnum and the USP. 45. It is unlocked at Level 30.
.44 Magnum
The .44 Magnum is very similar to the MP412 in that they both are high power revolvers. The Magnum in MW3 is actually silver with a black handle, but I chose this picture to maintain the consistency of the post. This weapon is unlocked at Level 46.
Five Seven
The Five Seven is a very nice all-around handgun. With minimal recoil and a good rate of fire, this weapon kills very quickly. It is best known for it's fastest draw time, which beats any other handgun. It is unlocked at Level 58.
Desert Eagle
The Desert Eagle is the most powerful handgun/pistol in the game. It however, also has an obnoxiously high recoil level. As a result of this, It can only be effectively used with a slow rate of fire. This gun is best used in akimbo. It is unlocked at Level 76.
